Missionary Month of October starting tomorrow will culminate with Mission Sunday. Comment on the Holy Father’s mission prayer intention for October by Cardinal Ivan Dias Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples

Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Church’s Missionary Month of October starting tomorrow will culminate with the annual recurrence of Mission Sunday on the last but one Sunday of the month, this year 22nd October, a day to remember missionaries everywhere with prayers and special collections. October was chosen as the month for the Missions to commemorate the discovery of the new continent, America. For the month of October this year Pope Benedict XVI indicated the following theme to the Apostolate of Prayer: “That the celebration of World Mission Sunday may intensify missionary animation and cooperation everywhere” We give below the comment on this intention by Cardinal Ivan Dias Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples.
