Like Mary, Christians should welcome Jesus, Pope tells audience

The experience of the Virgin Mary, who consented to be the Mother of God, is an example for every follower of Christ, Pope Benedict XVI told his Angelus audience on Sunday, August 16. Reflecting on Mary's, following the feast of the Assumption, the Holy Father told the crowd gathered in the courtyard of his summer palace: "God asks each one of us to welcome Him, to make available to Him our hearts, our bodies, our entire existence, so that He can dwell in the world."
